Hi Daniel,
when you check the tools listed under Operating System Tools, which are (as of SiteScope 11.32)
Event Log Tool
Performance Counters Tool
Processes Tool
Services Tool
you might get the idea that these are Windows tools, because - except of Processes - none of the other things exist in Unix,
like Services, or Event log.
if you then check the Online help:
Event Log Tool
This tool enables you to view portions of the Windows event log locally or on a remote server.
-> Windows only
Performance Counters Tool
This tool enables you to check performance counters on a specific machine in a Windows network
-> Windows only
Processes Tool
This tool displays processes running on the server where SiteScope is installed.
-> all OS, but with Unix it can be used on the local SiteScope server only
Services Tool
This tool displays services running on the server where SiteScope is installed. This can be useful to confirm that critical services are available. If Remote UNIX machines have been defined, they are listed in a drop-down menu
When you run SiteScope on for example Linux, the list of Operating System Tools only shows
Processes Tool
So the list of tools available depends on the OS SiteScope runs on.
With Windows you have more tools than with Linux.
Greetings
Siggi
